The Raytheon A-36 Bonanza (Hebrew nickname: 'Hofit' (Stint)) is a single-engine six seat (including the pilot) passenger airplane.
The first member of the "Beechcraft" family was manufactured in 1947 and was an instant success. The Bonanza serves as a light transport and training plane all over the world. The IAF will use the "Hofit" as a passenger plane
The IAF decided on replacing the "Socata" TB-20 Trinidad (Hebrew nickname: 'Pashosh' ('Warbler')) after a year of deliberating and considering all the options. One of these was a trade-in with the French company – "Socata" but finally it was decided on replacing the "Pashosh" with the A-36 Bonanza "Hofit".
The first of the "Hofit" light planes landed on December the 5th 2004.
