Earlier today (Thursday), IAF fighter jets targeted a five-floor building located in the Rimal neighborhood of the northern Gaza Strip. The building was used by the Hamas terror organization's interior security forces for military purposes. The Hamas' interior security unit is responsible for all security operations carried out inside the Gaza Strip, and is considered to be an executive branch of Hamas' political leadership. The building serves as the office of active unit members. A significant part of the unit's members are also military operatives of the Hamas terror organization. The strike was carried out in response to the rockets that the Hamas fired at Israeli territory, including the launching of a rocket towards the city of Be'er Sheva, located over 40 kilometers from the Gaza Strip.

This morning, IAF fighter jets targeted a number of terrorist targets along the Gaza Strip, including a military compound belonging to the East Rafah Battalion, a terrorist tunnel west of Jabalia and two terrorist tunnels located near the coast in the center of the Gaza Strip belonging to the Hamas terrorsit organization. This is a continuation of the IDF's effort to destroy terrorist infrastructure over the past years.

The IAF's widescale attack have caused damage to over 150 military strategic targets belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization. During the night, IAF fighter jets targeted over 140 strategic military targets belonging to the Hamas terror organization. The strikes took place in ten of Hamas' military compounds throughout the Gaza Strip, and included manufacturing facilities, training complexes and advanced weapons and capability sites.

Among the targets were a Hamas headquarters in Jabalia, including dozens of military sites; a military compound used by the commander of northern Gaza City, which included an offensive maritime tunnel; a Hamas outpost used by the Jabalia Battalion, used for training in urban warfare and for underwater training; and a military compound belonging to the Zaytun battalion used for storing weapons and for offensive terror tunnel digging.

Also targeted were a military compound belonging to the East Jabalia Battalion used for training in urban warfare, and the site of a shaft leading to an offensive terror tunnel complex; a Hamas base in the northern Gaza Strip used for training in urban warfare and rocket launching; a compound belonging to the Jabalia Battalion used for training and meetings of senior battalion commanders; a military compound used by Hamas to store weapons and explosives; and a Hamas military compound used by the Deir al-Balah Battalion, which is now the site of a current tunnel digging operation.

Early in the Morning: An Additional Strike Wave
Early this morning, IAF fighter jets targeted over 20 terror sites in military compounds and in a Hamas training camp. Among the sites targeted were a weapons manufacturing and storage facility and a complex used for the Hamas' naval force. Additionally, five training camps were targeted as well as a main warehouse and a meeting point used by the senior commanders of the Khan Yunis Brigade. An IAF aircraft also fired towards a rocket launching squad in Gaza after it launched rockets at Israel from the southern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli strike was conducted in response to the rockets launched from the Gaza Strip at Israeli territory over the course of the evening and night. Around 180 rockets have been launched at Israel from the Gaza Strip and the "Iron Dome" air defense system managed to intercept 30 rockets overall. Most rockets fell in in open areas.

The Hamas terror organization continues to target Israeli civilians and security infrastructure, violates Israel's sovereignty and endangers Israel's civilians and defense forces. The IDF views Hamas' terror activity with great severity and is prepared for a wide variety of scenarios while continuing to fulfill its mission to defend Israeli civilians.
