A light tour and transport plane with 4-5 seats that was brought to British Palestine in the summer of 1939, and joined the 'Aviron' fleet ('Aviron' was the first Jewish aviation firm in Mandatory Palestine). The plane was rarely used, and apparently spent all of WW2 stored in an 'Aviron' hangar at Ashdot-Ya'acov.
In 1945 the RWD-15 was readied for flight, and transferred to Aviron's new base of operations at the Ramla airfield. When the British and American squadrons that had been stationed at nearby Lod (Lydda) Airport were transferred elsewhere, 'Aviron' relocated its operations base to Lod, and the RWD-15 began flying a regular daily line between Lod and Haifa.
When Sherut Ha'avir was founded, the Hagana decided to move the 'Aviron' planes to a safer place, far from the British authorities' watchful eye. Another reason for the move was Lod Airport's geographical location, in the midst of hostile Arab towns and villages. Operation 'Tzipora' (December 1947) entailed flying all of Aviron's planes from Lod to Sde Dov, north of Tel Aviv. Unfortunately for the RWD-15, it was undergoing repairs at the time and was left behind.
In early 1948, a group of Arabs infiltrated Lod Airport and torched the plane.
